MASHAV and UNEP Sign Cooperation Agreement

    The MOU was signed in Nairobi by Jan Dusik, Director, UNEP’s Regional Office for Europe and Israel’s Ambassador to Kenya, Gil Haskel (June 27).
     
    The UN Environment Program (UNEP) and MASHAV share common objectives with regard to the conservation, protection, enhancement and support of nature and natural resources, including biological diversity worldwide, and wish to collaborate to further these common goals and objectives within their respective mandates and governing rules and regulations, and to contribute to the strengthening ability of countries to integrate environmental dimension and sustainability into national development processes. Within this framework, MASHAV and UNEP will conduct bilateral meetings to address matters of common interest for the implementation of activities in specific areas, countries and regions.
     
    Cooperation between the parties will include the promotion of professional training programs and exchange of experts in the areas of climate change adaptation, sustainable agriculture, food security and water management, resource efficiency, waste management, solar technologies, and health and environment.
