The 3rd International Conference and Exhibition on Homeland Security (dubbed “Israel HLS 2014”) held in Tel Aviv, Israel, came to an end yesterday.
Responding to homeland security developments and trends around the world, Israel HLS 2014 focused on four principal areas that are at the top of every government’s list: Cyber Security, Critical Infrastructure Protection, Emergency Management, and Intelligence, Counter Terror and Law Enforcement.
The conference examined the challenges these areas present, and discussed the deployment of appropriate technologies and systems. Participants also examined the development of new operational procedures to counter the growing threats of global terror, as well as crime, public order and natural disaster.
In the conference and exhibition, Israeli HLS companies displayed their innovative technologies creating a platform that encourages international cooperative ventures with local industry. About 1500 representatives and delegations from over 60 countries attended including public security ministers, senior government and municipal officials, emergency response and port authorities, police commanders, HLS industry managers among many others.
Kenyan delegation to Israel HLS 2014 comprised of the Minister of Defence and Minister of Interior & Coordination of National Government, senior officials from both ministries, Members Parliament and Senior officials of the Kenya Parliament, County Government Officials, Security chiefs of Critical government infrastructure, and senior security representatives from various companies.
We hope that the Kenyan delegation will return home knowing they have conferred with top security experts and seen advanced tools that are necessary to deal with emerging HLS threats and challenges in the country.
