The Israeli Ambassador to Kenya, H.E Gil Haskel, Yesterday conveyed messages of congratulations and goodwill to President Elect, Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy, William Ruto, on behalf of the newly elected Israeli Government (sworn in last week), Headed by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu.

In a statement, the Ambassador reiterated that the Government of Israel is looking forward to working with the Kenyatta administration, in order to further solidify the very deep and intimate relations that exist between both nations.
This year, Israel marks 50 years of its relations with Kenya. A series of festive events around Kenya have been earmarked by the Embassy to celebrate this Jubilee.

The Ambassador presented Uhuru a photograph of his father Kenya’s first President the late Mzee Jomo Kenyatta with Israel’s Foreign Minister Golda Meir at the cornerstone laying ceremony for the Embassy of Israel building in Nairobi on December 9, 1963.
