As the United Nations marks the International Day of Holocaust Remembrance, there is a need to take an active approach in order to preserve the memory of the victims of the Holocaust.
It is not only Israel’s or the Jewish people responsibility- it must be a global one.
The Holocaust resulted in the murder six million of the Jewish people, one and a half million children among them, along with many members of other minorities.
As the years go by, those who survived to tell are fewer in numbers, and the obligation to keep the memory of the victims, the survivors and the families alive passes on to us, a younger generation. We must back the slogan ‘Never Again’ with action to ensure that the atrocities, hatred, bigotry, racism and prejudice, meted out during the holocaust are never repeated again anywhere in the world – and to do that, we must remember.”
