The Ambassador of the State of Israel H.E. Gil Haskel presided over the opening reception of an Israeli play titled Apples in the Desert on 13th October, 2013, at 06:00 pm, at The Norfolk Hotel.
The play has been acted by a local theatre group, Phoenix players. It is an award winning play; a romantic comedy dealing with religious freedom career choice and Romance and all sorts of freedom that a young lady with a strict dad and suppressed mother crave.
Present at the reception and play were Diplomatic Officials, Cabinet Secretary for Sports Culture and Arts – Hassan Wario, Chairman of Kenya Primary Schools Head Teachers Association – Mr. Joseph Karuga, among others.
The play is part of a series of festive events around Kenya by the Embassy to celebrate the 50 years of its relations with Kenya. It will be showing at the Phoenix theatres at Professional Center along Parliament road from Monday 14th to Saturday 19th October 2013.
