    The 9th Jerusalem Winner Marathon will take place on Friday 15 March, with the participation of 35,000 runners. The event, which will pass by many of Jerusalem’s unique historic sites, is expected to include 4,400 international runners from 76 countries.
     
    More than 35,000 runners will participate in the 9th Jerusalem Winner Marathon​, which is expected to bring a record 4,400 international runners and an unprecedented 17 million in revenue to the city, which will be invested in the development of businesses and social projects in the city.
     
    The Jerusalem Winner Marathon is the largest social marathon in Israel, which includes a special 800 meter social track, in which 6,000 runners and 15 associations are expected to participate. Among the non-profit organizations participating are Aleh, Shalva, Kav L'Chaim, the Israel Cancer Association, the Center for Rape Victims and Sexual Assault, the Koby Mandell Foundation, Kav LaNoar, Chayenu, the Michael Levine Lone Soldier Center, Yachad, One Family, Tzomet Center, Sulam, and more.
     
    The various tracks pass by fascinating historical sites that illuminate 3,000 years of the history of Jerusalem, Israel's capital. As usual, this year’s marathon combines physical endurance with exquisite landscapes, fresh mountain air and unique culture and heritage sites.  The International Jerusalem Winner Marathon is considered one of the most fascinating, exciting and challenging marathons in Israel and the world. The tracks take runners on a journey through Jerusalem's unique history, religion and culture, which varies from one neighborhood to the next. 
     
    The race tracks pass by the site of King Solomon's first Holy Temple, through Via Dolorosa – the famous street that attracts visitors from all over the world, and many other fascinating sites. Activity stations will be located at various points along the tracks to entertain the crowds, spur on the runners, and boost the exciting athletic atmosphere in the city on the day of the race. A challenging, thrilling and unforgettable experience is guaranteed for all. 
     
    More than 12,000 tourists are expected to stay in the capital for the marathon weekend. This year there is a 25% increase in international participants, which will include 4,400 runners from 76 countries including the United States, Italy, China, Germany, England, South Africa, Kenya, France, Poland, the Netherlands, Hungary, Tanzania, Cuba, Kazakhstan, Honduras, Costa Rica, Zambia, Guinea, Macau, Venezuela and Chile.
     
    The Jerusalem Winner Marathon is run by the Sports Department of the Jerusalem Municipality, in cooperation with the Jerusalem Development Authority and with the support and assistance of the Jerusalem Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Culture and Sport, and under the auspices of Toto Winner.
