The implementation of the reciprocity principle, which is one of the main principles of the Visa Waver Program, has begun. The a procedure requires any country that seeks to be accepted as a member of the VWP with the US.
This new procedure establishes an outline that will allow any American citizen to enter Israel, and later, with the acceptance of Israel as a member of the VWP, will allow any Israeli to enter the United States, for tourism, without the need for applying for a visa. The full implementation of the new procedure will apply to any American citizen, including Americans with additional citizenship (regardless of the other country of citizenship), American residents of Judea and Samaria, and American residents of the Gaza Strip.
These guidelines are intended to specify the method of arranging the entry of US citizens who wish to come to Israel and pass through Israel's border crossings, including the stage where they are still outside Israel and have not reached its border crossings.
Moreover, the privileges will also apply, as detailed in this document, to US citizens who are residents of the Judea and Samaria area or who possess additional citizenship included in the appendix to the Citizenship and Entry into Israel Law (Temporary Order), 2022 (hereafter, "The Temporary Order").
