Important information regarding the process
- The Israeli law states that an Israeli citizen must register their children up to 30 days from the day of birth.

If your marital status changed and is different than the status registered in the population registry in Israel, please apply for a marital status update prior to applying for a citizenship for your child. (For information on how to update your marital status, click here).
- If both parents are Israeli citizens and are not married to each other, the father must add an additional declaration to the documentation. (To download the declaration, click here).
- If one parent is Israeli, the other is not, and the parents are not married, the couple must add additional documents to provide a proof of mutual life. See a full list of optional proofs at the bottom of this page.
- For applicants in age 28 years old and older, please do not contact the consular department for registration. You may proceed only with an external agency. (See: The Jewish Agency or Nefesh Be Nefesh).
