Israeli Halleluya Dance Group was among four foreign
art troupes to perform in the opening ceremony of the 2016 Hue Festival on
April 29.
Always bringing unique repertoires to stage at the Hue
festival, this year the Embassy of Israel introduced a performance entitled
‘Spirit of Israel’ by Halleluya Dance Group to local audiences.
The festival took place in various venues, such as the
Hue Citadel, An Dinh Palace and other places in the Complex of Hue Monuments.
Halleluya’s attractive contemporary
repertoires mixed with Israeli ethnic traditions were warmly welcome by
the packed audiences from all over the country rushing to Hue Festival.
Also, in celebration of the long-lasting and fine
friendship between Vietnam and Israel, the Embassy of Israel brought the
special repertoire of Halleluya to Hanoi Opera House on the evening of April 27.
Israeli Ambassador to Vietnam Meraiv Eilon Shahar said
that the dances performed by Halleluya reflect the influence of immigration of
the Jewish people from all corners of the world to the land of Israel, the
influence of Israel’s religion and tradition, as well as modern Israel.
Founded in 1988 by choreographer/artistic director
Barry Avidan, Halleluya has appeared on a range of TV networks and stages in
Israel and around the world, sharing its youthful spirit, love of dance and
diversified repertoires.
