The third round of joint political consultations between the foreign ministries of Israel and Vietnam were held in Jerusalem on May 14, 2012. Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon held a working meeting with his Vietnamese counterpart, Deputy Foreign Minister Luong Minh.

The two sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation between them in the wake of the state visit to Vietnam by President Shimon Peres in November 2011, particularly in the fields of economy, science, technology and education. They agreed to intensify exchange visits on all levels in advance of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral relations in 2013.
Political and economic developments in both states were discussed, as well as regional and international issues of mutual interest.
