The 2nd Holocaust Memorial Day held in Vietnam

  •   The 2nd Holocaust Memorial Day held in Vietnam
  •

In 2005, the UN General Assembly has dedicated 27 January as an annual international day of commemoration to honor the victims of the Holocaust. This date was selected because it marked the liberation of Auschwitz - Birkenau , the largest extermination camps of the Nazis . This resolution of the United Nations rejected the denials of the Holocaust  and condemned discrimination and violence of religion or race .

Holocaust Remembrance Day has become annual and continuous events held by the Israeli Embassy in Vietnam. This year , with the theme "Journey " , the Embassy of Israel in coordination with the United Nations in Vietnam and the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam (DAV) hosted Holocaust Remembrance Day at  DAV,  on 18 February 2014 . Dr. Joel Zisenwise - the experts from the World Center for Research, Education and Commemoration for Holocaust (Yad Vashen , Jerusalem ) will be the speaker of the program .

Holocaust Remembrance Day is an opportunity for the students in DAV have more knowledge about the Holocaust , to commemorate the victims of the Holocaust and to ponder what would happen if the racism, prejudice and hatred still are not under control.

On the afternoon of 18 February  and full days of 19 February , Dr. Joel Zisenwise had other lectures with teachers and students in University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Hanoi University of Pedagogy and UNIS.
