    Founded in 2000, with the aim of bringing free operations and medical support to Vietnamese people, every two years, IEP come to Can Tho general hospital to take surgery of patients with lower leg deformities to bring them easier lives, and conduct training and capacity building for the doctors and staff at Can Tho general hospital.
     
    In details, the project concentrates on examining and evaluation neglected severe lower leg deformities due to various reasons as neglected Polio, neglected Clubfoot, neuromuscular disorders, other congenital deformities and severe deformities due to trauma.

    Since the group includes also speech therapist and children physiotherapist they also contribute to treat children mainly with Cerebral palsy and other Neuro-Muscular problems
    Each time of visit, they examine 70-100 patients and take surgery for 35-40 patients. The specialist doctors at Can Tho hospital also directly involve in patient examining and operation as well as participate in specific workshop, seminars and in-depth researches to learn from the advanced Western healthcare system and accumulate professional experience.
