Pope Francis will be the 4th Pope to come to the Holy Land. He will visit Israel on May 25-26, 2014 - the 50th anniversary of the historic visit of Pope Paul VI.
Pope Francis chose Israel for his first international visit and Israel is proud to mark this event with a set of special items. Israel Postal Company even is offering this special souvenir stamp sheet which includes images of 12 important Christian holy sites in Israel.
During his stay in Israel (May 25-26), Pope Francis will visit various sites in the city of Jerusalem: Mount Scopus, The Church of the Holy Sepulchre, Notre Dame Cathedral, The Temple Mount, The Western Wall, Mount Herzl, Yad Vashem, Heichal Shlomo, President's Residence, Gethsemane and Mount Zion
