Israel-based DJ Dean Cohen scored his first Top 20 hit in his home country at age 15, and it's only gotten better since then. He's since charted on the overall Beatport charts and enjoyed the support of DJs like Fedde le GRand, NIcky Romero and Tiesto and now he's got his sights set on Chicago's spring Awakening Festival as the first stop on his US and Canada tour.
Though new to the American scene, Cohen is no stranger to Chicago. "I played in Chicago for the first time a few month ago at the Congress Theater," Dean told LessThan3. "This was the first time I saw how amazing the crowd in Chicago is. I'm so excited to see this in a bigger form and in a completely different atmosphere." Even the Chicagoans who caught Cohen at his last show still may not be fully prepared for his Spring Awakening set. "60% of my set is going to be new tunes that I have never played before, as well some new edits of my already-released tracks to make the set even more exciting," Cohen revealed to us last week.
Want to get a taste of what the youngling will be playing at Soldier Field next month? We've got an exclusive mix from the man featuring some of the sounds we can expect to hear from Cohen when he brings a bit of Israel's electro heat to Chicago. "Israel's club scene calls for big room tunes, and the crowd just keeps getting bigger and better," Cohen told us, so it sounds like he's ready to go by American standards, as well.
