Uri Gurvich is a saxophonist and composer originally from Israel. He currently resides in New York City, where he is an in-demand saxophonist and a critically acclaimed bandleader and composer. Gurvich began playing the saxophone at an early age and then became a member of the Tel Aviv Jazz Orchestra. At 19, he won the prestigious Jazz Player of the Year competition in Israel. Shortly after, he received a scholarship and relocated to Boston to attend the prestigious Berklee College of Music. At Berklee, he studied with jazz masters such as: Joe Lovano, Hal Crook, Dave Liebman, Ed Tomassi and Herb Pomeroy, among others.
