Minister Visits Israel, Seeks Cooperation on Water Management
Minister of Water Resources, Mrs. Sarah Ochekpe recently attended the 6th International Exhibition and 3rd Conference on Water Technologies, Renewable Energy, & Environmental Control (WATEC), which took place in Tel Aviv, Israel from November 15 to 17, 2011.
During the visit, the minister had working sessions with top officials of Israeli government including the Minister of Infrastructure, Mr. Uziel Landau; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Danny Ayalon and representatives of the Economic Division of the ministry.
Mrs. Ochekpe who was also conducted round various Exhibition stands and pavilions expressed willingness to cooperate with Israel in the fields of water management and irrigation.
According to her this would enable Nigeria have access and solution to its perennial water problem for its huge population and to fight the menace of desertification.
