Delegation of the City of Split, headed by Deputy Mayor Jure Šundov visited yesterday Jerusalem and Yad Vashem,World Center for Holocaust Research, Documentation, Education and Commemoration.
Deputy Mayor Jure Šundov: "Especially impressive for all was a visit to Yad Vashem which in a unique way shows suffering of the Jewish people
before and during the Second World War".
"Everything that I have experienced in this city culminated in this room
with little stars representing prematurely extinguished lives of little angels.
Let it never be forgotten, let the whole world and future generations learn
here the lesson. I wish a future of lasting peace to friendly Jewish
people", Šundov wrote in a book of memories in children's museum of Yad
Vashem.
"The delegation was also received by Francoise Cafri, Director of the
department for international cooperation from the City
of Jerusalem, and they discussed cultural cooperation between the two cities."
