Family Reunification

    If you're considering relocating to Israel with your Foreign partner, you must initiate a procedure known as "Family Reunification".
    This application is performed from your current place of residence, and the entire application will be handled from this location.
    For instance, if you choose to initiate the application process from Poland, your partner will not be permitted to enter Israel until a response is received from the Ministry of Interior.

    If you are living abroad, the application should be submitted at the local Embassy.
    If you live in Israel, the application should be submitted at the Ministry of Interior.

  • Required Documents

    ​1. Application form for obtaining an entry visa for the foreign spouse - (filled at the embassy)
    2. 2 passport photos 5x5 cm - 
    The photo must be a recent headshot, frontal, in color, on a light background.    
    3. Passport of the Israeli citizen
    4. Passport of the foreign spouse / partner, valid for at least two years
    5. An original multilingual Marriage Certificate certified by Apostille - if you are married
    In case that the original certificate is not multilingual or in English -
    A certificated translation into English or Hebrew with Apostille is required
    6. A signed explanatory letter of the couple regarding their relationship, their life together, the manner and duration of their acquaintance, etc. 
    7. Declaration on the validity of submitted materials and their obligation to notify any change in circumstances (filled and signed at the Embassy)
    8. Evidence demonstrating the validity of the relationship and having a common life center -
    9. At least from the last year until the day of submitting the application (evidence from over one year period receives priority) – please see the list below
    10. Original Birth Certificate of the foreign spouse / partner with Apostille 
    11. In case that the original certificate is not multilingual or in English -
    12. A certificated translation into English or Hebrew with Apostille is required
    13. Current public certificate on personal, current and previous status of the invitee, with Apostille
    14. A marriage certificate stating the previous personal status is also valid
    15. An original, current and verified criminal information certificate from the countries of origin -
    16. The certificate should include a name change from the last year (if relevant) and indicates that the 
    17. foreign citizen has no criminal record
    18. If there have been name changes (personal/family) of the spouse / partner -
    19. A public certificate attesting to the name change is required
  • Documents for proving the sincerity and validity of a couple's relationship

    ​• A contract for a shared residential apartment (rent or purchase), which includes the names of the partners. 
    Joint accounts: bank account, internet payments, telephone, other accounts, tax payments - which include the names of the partners. 
    Legal marital agreement ("registered partnership" or "publicly known"). 
    Joint insurance policies: life insurance, home insurance and any other insurance that includes the names of both partners.

    * These options for proving the sincerity of the relationship are considered as "strong" proof
  • Additional proofs of the sincerity of a couple's relationship (normal proof)

    ​• Shared photos bearing a date (an option that exists on mobile phones and digital cameras). 
    Making financial transfers between one bank account and another (if the partners have separate bank accounts).
    Joint subscription to cultural institutions (such as the theater, gym, etc.).
    Declaration of Israeli acquaintances stating their relationship with the applicants 
    o A copy of the Israeli ID with contact details for each recommender must be attached  
    Proof for shared flights - boarding passes, booking flight tickets. 
    Joint bookings of hotels, resorts, apartments, Airbnb etc,. 
    Invoices for purchased products or services, which include the names of the partners. 
    Any other document that may be required, at the consul's discretion, according to the circumstances of the case. 

    After submitting and reviewing all the required documents, you can schedule an appointment for an submitting the request/s in person at the Embassy.

    While applying in the Embassy you need to come with your partner for an interview with the consul.
  • When the application is accompanied by minors from a previous marital relationship

    ​​Additional Documents required:

    Birth certificate of the minor, original, verified and if necessary translated (English/Hebrew)
    Foreign passport of the minor, valid for at least two years
    The position of the minor's other parent (see details here below)
    If the minor is over 14 years old - a criminal information certificate (certificate of integrity) from his country of origin is required
    Any additional document or certificate, according to the consul's discretion.
  • Follow up stages after submitting the application

    Only upon receiving approval from the Population Authority will the couple be granted entry into Israel. After confirming with the Population Authority and obtaining clearance from the Office of Visas, a visa or residence permit will be issued, which is valid for a one-month duration, specifically for the purpose of the joint arrival in Israel.

    Upon arrival in Israel, the applicants will be required to present their original documents to the Ministry of Interior or Population Authority to commence the gradual process of obtaining legal status for the foreign spouse.
