A
new initiative called “Stones with a Human Heart” is a wonderful and very warm
project which honours the fallen soldiers who lost their lives and are buried
in Israel, giving family members from overseas the opportunity to lay a stone
on the graves of their loved ones from afar on Yom Ha’zikaron.
The project was launched in 2020, due to travel restrictions caused by the Corona
crisis, which prevented relatives from visiting the graves of their loved
ones. Thus, the main goal is to show solidarity with the bereaved
families, who cannot come to Israel to visit graves.
The
Corona Heart-Stones with a Human Heart project enables volunteers to place
thousands of stones in dozens of cemeteries across Israel for bereaved families
of fallen IDF soldiers.
Last
year, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel assisted in the project. We will continue to participate this year as well, because we attach great importance
to this activity.
Kindly
click on the link below and fill out a form, in order to order a stone. Volunteers
for the project will decorate them according to the family's request and place
it on the grave.
