As part of the “Green Ministry” project, which aims to situate
Israel’s Foreign Ministry as a leader amongst Israeli government ministries in
the fields of sustainability and environmental protection, the Embassy of Israel in Cyprus is committed to follow good
environmental practice and operate in a sustainable manner, in order to reduce
our environmental impact and improve our environmental performance.
Our policy:
• Comply
with the requirements of local environmental legislation and codes of practice.
• Promote
environmentally friendly and sustainable work practices.
• Minimize
energy and water usage in our buildings, vehicles and actions.
• Reduce
our environmental impact and strive for a balanced conduct with an eye towards
constant improvement.
• Communicate
this policy and increase awareness and engagement both by the employees and by
our associates.
Our Action Plan:
• Ensure
that all employees understand our environmental policy and contribute to
achieving high standards.
• Brainstorm
ideas and work with employees on how to achieve the environmental goals.
• Implement
a training program for the staff to raise awareness of environmental issues and
arrange follow-up bi-monthly meetings.
• Actively
promote recycling of paper, plastic and metal in our buildings.
• Reduce
energy consumption by 5% and water consumption by 3% by the end of the year.
• Reduce
the use of paper and plastic products.
• As far
as possible purchase products and services, that minimize damage to the
environment.
