Second Trilateral meeting of House Speakers

    The 2nd Trilateral Meeting of the Presidents of the Parliaments of Cyprus, Greece and Israel was hosted by the House of Representatives, on November 2, in Nicosia. The Meeting was attended by House President Demetris Syllouris, Hellenic Parliament President Nikolaos Voutsis and Knesset Speaker Yuli-Yoel Edelstein, who was accompanied by the new  Israel - Cyprus Group of Friendship Chairman Yakov Margi.

    Issues concerning the cooperation among the three countries’ parliaments were discussed in the Meeting, as well as issues concerning water resources and entrepreneurship, research, innovation and education.

    In his opening address Yuli-Yoel Edelstein said that "these meetings are very important, given that this is a good action and aura among our various parliaments," adding that "we must utilise the good practices implemented by each parliament."

    The Joint Declaration signed after the Meeting, reiterated the importance of parliamentary cooperation between Cyprus, Greece and Israel, founded upon shared values and principles, to the benefit of the respective countries and peoples and to the benefit of peace, stability and prosperity in the region.
