Scholarships from the Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Cypriots
(Αcademic Υear 2023-2024)
1. Granting
of Scholarships from the Israel Ministry of
Foreign Affairs
o A full academic year (8
months, October to June) for the following programs: MA/PhD/Post
Doctorate/Overseas and International program
o A three (3) weeks Hebrew
or Arabic language summer program (Ulpan)
2. What
is offered:
The Full (8 month) Academic Year scholarship includes:
50% of the tuition fee for one academic year
(8 months) up to a max of $6,000
Monthly allowance of 850$ for one academic
year. Please
know that this amount is modest, considering the accommodation and living costs
in Israel.
Basic health insurance
The Summer Language Course scholarship
includes:
Full tuition fees 3.5 week
Boarding in a room for 2
300$ allowance for living expenses
Basic health insurance
3. Conditions:
-No full degree scholarships are granted.
-The
scholarships cannot be renewed or extended
-The applicant can only receive a scholarship
after being accepted to an academic institute that is recognized by the Israeli
Higher Education Council.
-The applicant cannot submit an application for both an academic scholarship and
Ulpan studies at the same time.
4. General Requirements:
-Citizen of the country
- Applicant must be up to 35 years (from the commencement of the
studies)
- For the Academic
Year Scholarship the applicant must hold a BA or BSc degree (or higher) and
a good record of academic achievement.
-For the Language Scholarship the applicant should
be before or during their last year of their BA.
5. Approved Israeli
universities:
The list of universities and programs
that are accredited by the scholarship council and approved for
scholarship applications can be found at http://www.che.org.il/en
There
are no limitations to which study field the scholarship can be applied for. However, the following research fields will be prioritized:
Social
sciences
International
relations
Political
science
Judaism
History of Israel
Literature
Hebrew language
Scholarships
for the following fields cannot be approved, since they require a working permit:
Medical studies
Dental studies
Veterinarian studies
6. The
application must include:
- The completed scholarships application form and the health form (signed and stamped by a
licensed medical practitioner).
- A detailed letter describing the field of study in Israel,
specifying the academic institute or a letter of acceptance or copies of
correspondence exchanged with Israeli academic institutes.
- Official academic records (notarized or original copy), academic
diplomas and certificates, and transcripts of grade records.
- Two letters of recommendation from professors
- Certificate of English language proficiency
- A curriculum vitae (resume)
- A portrait photograph
7. Deadline
- All of the above should be sent via email to the Embassy of
Israel in Cyprus: public-diplomacy@nicosia.mfa.gov.il
- The deadline for the submission of applications is January 27, 2023.
- Final decision regarding the granting of a scholarship will be
made around July 2023.
