Talk on Beresheet's incredible journey to the moon

    Kfir Damari gave a lecture on June 20, 2019, ​at the CYTA Amphitheater in Nicosia, about the incredible story of Beresheet, the first privately funded spacecraft to orbit and hit the moon.

    It was an indeed inspirational talk by Kfir Damari, co-founder of SpaceIL, the non-profit organization which created Beresheet. Kfir, an entrepreneur, engineer and social-geek, delivered an exciting talk about Beresheet's incredible journey, from inception, to launch, to actually reaching the moon.

    "We are looking to the stars because Israel always looks into the future, just like Cyprus and Israel relations look into the future," Ambassador Revel stressed, adding that "we are constantly working to built the Israel - Cyprus innovation bridge, now also doing so in the fields of space exploration, science and technologies!"



    On her part, the Minister of Transport, Communications and Works Ms Vasiliki Anastasiadou said "we hope that Kfir's presence here on our island will inspire our people to follow their dreams even if they are as high as the stars!"




    Kfir Damari presented the story of how the vision to send Beresheet to the moon became a reality. He invited us all to "dare to dream," and stressed that "we managed to create a moment in history, when everyone remembered where they were at that time."

    Kfir also mentioned that part of his and SpaceIL's effort was to urge the next generation to believe in their dreams, and said that seeing the effect Beresheet's journey had, and the spark it put on many kids, children and youngsters, truly gave him great satisfaction.
