During a warm and friendly gathering, at one of the most charming venues in Nicosia, at Pharos Arts Foundation Shoe Factory, Ambassador Oren Anolik and Foreign Minister Nikos Christodoulides lit the forth candle on Hanukkah, on Wednesday December 1st 2021.

Ambassador Anolik was deeply moved to light the hannukian, recalling his late grandfather in-law Yerachmiel Yaron, who 70 years earlier, held the same ceremony, as the first Consul General of Israel in Cyprus.

Using a metaphor in the spirit of Hanukkah FM Christodoulides said that the cooperation between Cyprus and Israel shines like a geopolitical beacon of security, stability and prosperity for the entire region, ensuring that the future will be better in our troubled neighbourhood for our children and for the generations that will follow.
