The Foreign Ministers of the State of Israel, the Hellenic Republic, and the Republic of Cyprus held today (Sunday, 22 August 2021) a trilateral meeting in Jerusalem.
In his statements after the trilateral, Foreign Minister Yair Lapid said “today I hosted the Foreign Minister of Greece Mr Nikos Dendias and the Foreign Minister of Cyprus Mr Nikos Christodoulides at the Israel MFA for a trilateral meeting.
During the meeting we discussed creating a basis for expanding the cooperation
between the countries in a variety of fields including the fight against
COVID19, the formation of coalitions in the field of energy, & tackling
common challenges related to the climate crisis."
The Foreign Minister added that "this trilateral alliance is a
strategic asset for all of us. It strengthens our economy, our security
and our international standing. It is an integral part of something bigger, an
integral part of the change that is happening in the region. It is a moderate,
pragmatic and forward-looking alliance.”
