Speaker of the Knesset MK Yuli-Yoel Edelstein (Likud) met in his office on Monday, 19 November, 2018, with the President of the Cypriot House of Representatives, Demetris Syllouris. During the meeting, the two men discussed the continued cooperation and exchange of information between the Knesset and the Cypriot parliament.
Edelstein noted that the two parliaments would be playing a very important role in the direction of further developing cooperation in various sectors, such as environment, water resources, business, and high technology. Edelstein also thanked Syllouris for taking part in the three-day conference of the Inter-Parliamentary Union which will be held this week (begins 20 November, 2018) at the Knesset.
On his part, Syllouris expressed his satisfaction with the cooperation between the two parliaments, which is producing tangible results, and noted the intention of the two bodies to promote this cooperation even further.
Demetris Syllouris also met at the Knesset with MK Oded Forer (Yisrael Beitenu), a member of the Israel-Cyprus Parliamentary Friendship Group, as well as with MK Yael Cohen Paran (Zionist Union), chair of the Subcommittee for Advancing Technologies for Renewable Energy. Syllouris then visited the Holocaust Museum “Yad Vashem”, where he layed a wreath.
