    ​PRESS STATEMENT BY AMBASSADOR SAMMY REVEL

    Shortly after the formation of the new government in Israel, Prime Minister Bennett spoke on the phone with President Anastasiades. Today, incoming Foreign Minister Yair Lapid spoke with Foreign Minister Nikos Christodoulides. They emphasized the commitment to pursue the deepening of relations between Israel and Cyprus. Building on the close friendly ties, we will continue to create important synergies bringing together our countries and people.

    The dynamic bilateral partnership, developed in recent years between our two neighboring countries, will certainly continue to grow. This is particularly important in countering emergency situations, providing advanced medical treatment - including in times of the COVID19 pandemic, natural gas and renewable energy projects, climate change and environment protection, trade and investments, technological innovation and in the field of tourism – with many Israelis visiting again the island.

    In view of the challenges ahead, we will continue to develop also the Trilateral with Greece and the synergies with our close partners, in the region and beyond. This contributes significantly to regional stability, security and prosperity.
