    ​The participation of the President of Cyprus, H.E. Mr Nicos Anastassiades, in the World Holocaust Forum in Jerusalem to mark the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz Birkenau concentration camp, is very important.

    The high level forum in Yad Vashem, the World Holocaust Remembrance Center in Jerusalem, will send out a strong message, on the eve of the International Holocaust Remembrance Day. A message on the significance of Holocaust commemoration and the fight against Antisemitism.

    This is crucial, especially today when Antisemitism, racism and xenophobia are rising sharply across Europe and around the globe.

    The commitment of the government of Cyprus to Holocaust Remembrance and Education, will undoubtedly contribute to the strengthening of the ties between Israel and Cyprus and of our shared values.
