    We would like to invite you to join us in commemorating International Holocaust Remembrance Day for a panel discussing- The IHRA (International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance) Definition - Unpacking the Fight Against Antisemitism. This discussion addressed the context and definition of IHRA as well as its pertinence to different types of organizations. Given a recent rise in antisemitism on campus, we focused on IHRA's significance in university settings and how training on IHRA and antisemitism is vital for university administrations. We provided practical tools for educators to understand the IHRA definition and adopt it within their respective schools.  

    The speakers: 

    Mark Weitzman - Director of government affairs for the Simon Wiesenthal Center. He is a member of the official U.S. delegation to the International Holocaust Remembrance Authority (IHRA), where he chaired the committee on Antisemitism and Holocaust Denial and is currently chairing the Museums and Memorials Working Group.

     

    Alyza D. Lewin - President of the Louis D. Brandeis Center for Human Rights Under Law. She is also a co-founder and partner in Lewin & Lewin, LLP where she has specialized in litigation, mediation, and government relations. Ms. Lewin has represented numerous high-profile clients including victims of religious discrimination. 

     

    Asaf Romirowsky, Ph.D- The Executive Director of Scholars for Peace in the Middle East (SPME). Romirowsky is also a senior non-resident research fellow at the Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies (BESA) and a Professor [Affiliate] at the University of Haifa.

     

    Moderator 

    Ruth Cohen-Dar- Born in the Negev, mother a third generation in Jerusalem, and a Greek descendent father. A family of pioneers, who have established a village near Ashkelon. Served in the IDF for 3 years as an officer, after a year of volunteering as a community worker in a rural community in the Negev.
    Since October 2019, she has been serving as the Director of the Department for Combating Antisemitism and Holocaust Remembrance
