Jerusalem Marathon 2013

Explore 3,000 Years of History in 26.2 Miles

  •   Jerusalem Marathon to take place March 1st
  •

In just a few weeks, on March 1st, runners from all around the world will take part in the International Jerusalem Winner Marathon, a spectacular event which takes you through one of history's most precious cities. Last year, the Jerusalem Marathon drew in over 15,000 runners from over 50 countries. And why not? March in Israel has absolutely ideal conditions for a marathon. Jerusalem in March varies between 48 and 61 degrees Fahrenheit, and the city itself has relatively low humidity.

What makes the Jerusalem Marathon different than its counterpart in New York's Central Park is that the challenging run is accentuated with an incredible tour through the city's 3,000 year history. Think of it as a 26.2 mile walking tour, where you are encouraged to jog!
Whether you're doing a full marathon, half marathon, or one of the public races, you will be flying through some pretty amazing sites, from the starting line on Ruppin street, in front of the Israeli Knesset, Along the walls of the Old City of Jerusalem, to the Sultan’s Pool, a massive water storage reservoir built by the Ottoman Sultan Suleiman the First in 1536, and through the finish line in Jerusalem's largest public park, Sacher Park.

The closing date for registration is coming up soon! If you or your organization would like to participate, the deadline is February 14th, 2013. You can head on over to Jerusalem-Marathon.com for more information, and for help with travel and lodging.

The marathon will take place on March 1st, and will be an amazing spectacle for runners and sideline supporters alike, with a variety of booths and fun activities set up along the marathon's route.
