A new book collection was
launched at the New Rochelle Public Library by The Consulate General of
Israel in NY. The collection has been created in honor of Hebrew Language Day,
celebrated every year in recognition of the incredible work of Eliezer
Ben-Yehuda who resurrected ancient Hebrew into the vibrant and modern language
spoken in Israel today.
The Collection was launched in an intimate cutting ribbon ceremony attended by Westchester County Executive, George Latimer; Acting Consul General of Israel in NY, Israel Nitzan; Mayor of New Rochelle, Noam Bramson; Director of the New Rochelle Public Library, Tom Geoffino, and other officials and community leaders.
Books include a
variety of topics as they pertain to culture, history, economics, agriculture,
fiction, homemaking, fashion, exercise, and more. All will be available to the
public as part of the ongoing growth of the library and its book collections as
well as continuing programs via zoom for now where the public can tune in and
learn more about Israeli culture and many topics pertaining to the diverse
world.
