Music Voyager is an ambitious and expansive project which seeks to bring the music from every corner of the world to every corner of the world. Host Jacob Edgar travels the globe hunting for the best songs the world has to offer. While the show airs on PBS in the United States, its reach is truly massive- broadcasting to over 140 countries in the world! Music Voyager recently shot a number of episodes highlighting Israeli artists from the Negev to the rocking clubs of Tel Aviv.

MUSIC VOYAGER takes a pilgrimage to Israel, an epicenter of human history and religion. We travel from the Negev Desert and the Red Sea in the south to the fertile landscape of the north. Joined by some of the country's biggest musical stars we explore the ancient cobblestone streets of Jerusalem and Jaffa as well as the hip nightclubs and cutting-edge sounds of the contemporary Israeli music. Its a magical musical journey through time.

In the first of three episodes, Music Voyager traveled to attend  a once-in-a-lifetime concert of The Idan Raichel Project at the foot of the magnificent Solomon's Pillars, a natural rock formation in the Negev Desert near the Red Sea resort city of Eilat. Host Jacob Edgar also met Yemen Blues, Cabra Casey and Cape Verdean diva Mayra Andrade. Download Music Voyager: Israel- Voices from the Desert on Amazon here.

In the next episode, Music Voyager explored the only city in the world that's part Silicon Valley, part Austin, Texas. Tel Aviv's music scene is ready for its coming out party, and Music Voyager got a chance to meet with Ehud Banai, a revered singer-songwriter, Karolina, a hip and popular singer with an outstanding head of hair and a voice to match and producer and remixer Kutiman, who reveals the secrets of his famous YouTube mashups. They also got a chance to connect with Israeli-Arab singer Mira Awad in the streets of Jaffa's old city and discover the country's best hummus and nightlife with the surf-rock band Boom Pam. Finally, Music Voyager uncovered Jerusalem like you've never seen it before. Hip-hop group Hadag Nahash performs in a street market, and singer-songwriter David Broza takes you on a tour of his family winery. The diversity of music across Israel is astounding, and was apparent when they headed to Tsfat for a lesson on klemzer music, ending up at the Roman Amphitheater in Ceasarea for a performance by Mosh Ben-Ari.
