Links between Scotland and Israel were boosted on the 2nd of June when businessman and communal personality Stanley Lovatt was appointed as Israel’s first honorary consul in Scotland.

The Embassy celebrated Israel’s 63rd birthday with a reception for 1500 people.

On November 29, 1947 the UN General Assembly voted on the partition plan, and UNGA Resolution 181 was adopted by a vote of 33 to 13.
