A monument that has embedded stones from the region of Mr. Everest was established at the premises of Dead Sea, Israel on 30 May 2013. The ceremony was held at the Ecological Park in the southern part of the Dead Sea. Mr. Uzi Landau, Israel Tourism Minister, Mr. Prahlad Kumar Prasai, Nepali Ambassador to Israel, Mr. Dov Litvinoff, Head of Tamar Region, Mr. Nadav Ben-Yehuda, a Mountaineer, diplomats and other distinguished guests graced the ceremony.
"Mount Everest and Dead Sea Stones Exchange" was the joint project of the Embassy of Israel in Kathmandu, Embassy of Nepal in Israel, and the Governments of the respective countries.
In the first phase of the project, the stones brought from Dead Sea, Israel, were installed as a monument in the Headquarters of Sagarmatha National Park in Namche Bazaar, Mt Everest Region, on 23 April 2013.

The main objective of these projects is not only to promote natural beauty and cultural heritages of the two countries but also to mark the long standing and the friendly relations between the two countries.
The idea is to further strengthen the existing good and friendly relations between Nepal and Israel and bring it to the people to people level. The placing of the monuments will also encourage more people to visit the regions and to promote internal as well as international tourism.
On 4 September 2012, the first Nepal-Israel Joint Stamps carrying Mount Everest and the Dead Sea were released simultaneously in Nepal and in Israel. The project has received huge response in Nepal and in Israel. It received wide coverage in the Nepali and Israeli media as well in the international press.
