“A nation that destroys its soils destroys itself. Forests are the lungs of our land, purifying the air and giving fresh strength to our people. ”
Spreading the message of clean environment for better health, the Embassy of Israel on 20 September 2012 organized a forest cleaning camp around Bajrabahrahi Temple. The program was jointly organized with school children from Jyotidaya School, a local School at Bajrabarahi.
Embassy Staff and Shalom Club members joined students in cleaning the forest. The Embassy also installed locally made bins (Doko) to collect garbage and metal signs were placed at places giving message about clean forest.
Taking pride in contributing to the society for clean environment, H.E. Mr. Hanan Goder, Ambassador of Israel to Nepal said, "Nepal is a country which is blessed with amazing natural richness. These forests that you have here in Nepal belong to all of us but especially to the new generations. We must make an effort to preserve these magnificent treasures that exist in Nepal. I am proud to be a part together with students from Jyotidaya School and Shalom Club in this project".
