    As part of the Israeli Government’s efforts to strengthen research cooperation with India, the Planning and Budgeting Committee (PBC) of the Council for Higher Education has supported the establishment of two research funds between the Israel Science Foundation (ISF) and Indian equivalents and the University Grants Commission (UGC) in India.

    Since 2014, 21 joint research grants have been awarded in the following research fields: Exact Science and Life Science.

     In January 2015 a second Call for Proposals was published allowing researchers from Israel and India to submit proposals for collaborative research projects in the Life Science and Medical Science research fields.

     In order to apply, the Israeli research fellow must apply online to the ISF, with the approval of the Indian research fellow. The application will be transmitted electronically by the ISF to the UGC.
