    ​Nepalese Prime Minister Mr. Sushil Koirala and Nepal's chief of staff Gen Gaurav SJB Rana paid a visit earlier today to the new Israeli Field Hospital in Kathmandu. The Hospital is in fully operational now and has the capacity to treat 200 patients at a time. The guests were welcomed by Israeli Ambassador to Nepal, Mr. Yaron Mayer, by MFA Deputy Director General, Ambassador Mark Sofer and by IDF officers. PM Koirala stated “A friend in need is a friend indeed. Israel is here when we need it and we appreciate it. I am certain that the wounded Nepalese will get here a first rate best medical care”.
     
    Yesterday,  Israel's Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman spoke to his Nepalese counterpart, Mr. Bahadur Pandey, and offered his condolences and reaffirmed Israel’s commitment to help the Nepali people. Pandey thanked Liberman for Israel's assistance at this time of need. Liberman thanked Pandey for the cooperation of Nepalese authorities in making possible the use of helicopters to search for Israeli citizens stranded in remote locations. Pandey gave Liberman permission to use helicopters hired by Israel from India and China to rescue stranded Israelis.
