A delegation of senior technology executives from leading Indian companies will visit Israel to participate in the third Israel-India Technology Forum, which will be held at Kfar Hamaccabiah next week (3 – 6 June 2012). The aim of the Forum is to locate and identify groundbreaking Israeli technology and to negotiate for their purchase, commercialization and cooperation in their development.

 

The Forum discussions will be opened by MK Ronit Tirosh, Chairperson of the Knesset’s Science and Technology Committee, former minister Ran Cohen, President of the Asia-Israel Chamber of Commerce and Tzvi Halmish, CEO of ASHRA – The Israel Foreign Trade Risks Insurance Corporation Ltd. The program will include lectures by the entrepreneur and Internet guru Yossi Vardi, STKI CEO Jimmy Schwarzkopf and Prof. Gadi Ariav of Tel Aviv University. The program will also include visits to Israeli hi-tech companies, including Magic, Click Software, Nice, Cyber-Ark and FiberZone Networks as well as meetings with representatives of Israeli companies.

 

The Indian delegation is comprised of executives from leading Indian firms responsible for technological purchasing, including Aditya Birla, the third largest corporation in India, the huge software company Infosys, ITC Infotech, Godrej Industries, the Hinduja Corporation, and the financial company of the Mahindra Corporation.

 

This is the third time the Forum is being held at the initiative of the Israeli Consulate-General in Mumbai and under the auspices of the Economic Affairs Division of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Additional partners in the project include A&G Partners, an Israeli company that specializes in investments in India, the Manufacturers Association of Israel, the Federation of Israeli Chambers of Commerce, the Israel-Asia Chamber of Commerce and the Forum of Hi-Tech CEOs.

Many Indian executives have expressed interest in advanced Israeli technologies in the fields of IT, such as the Internet, information security, cloud computing, computerized solutions for organizations and cellular telephone applications, as well as expanding cooperation with Israeli companies.”
