Open since August 2014, the Sammy Ofer Stadium is home to Haifa's two football clubs and Israel's national football team.
You may recognize Yossi Benayoun, one of Israel's most famous footballers, who played for West Ham United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal and won the 2012-13 UEFA Europa League.

The Stadium is located on the southern slopes of Haifa, near the Matam High-tech & Business Park. Boasting over 30,000 seats, it is the only indoor (fully roofed) football stadium in Israel. It is designed to host international matches in accordance with the highest UEFA and FIFA requirements. The World Peace Statue, recently inaugurated on the northwest edge of the stadium plaza, was designed and donated to the city Haifa by the world-renowned Chinese artist Yuan Yao.
