Israel Embassy in India, today hosted an event on Israel’s agriculture activities in India, including inviting Indian farmers and related businessmen to  Agritech 2015, one of the world’s most important exhibitions in the field of agricultural technologies.  The event saw agriculture companies participate and examine opportunities to partner with Israel, in fields such as agro-technologies, storage, post harvesting, water treatment and more.

Israel, with vast parts of land in arid and semi-arid regions, has pioneered and led the concepts of drip irrigation, recycling, purifying and reuse of wastewater for agriculture purposes for many years now.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Yahel Vilan, Israel's Deputy Ambassador to India, said, "Israel is proud of what it has achieved together with our Indian partners in a short span of time. Both our countries share each other's experience. We share values as well as challenges with India in fields of HLS, Water, Trade, Agriculture, Dairy and many others. We view India as an important partner. We look forward to enhance relations in every possible field. We're working with India in Agriculture since 2006 when both countries signed a cooperation agreement that today includes 28 centers in 9 states, done through MASHAV, Israel's Agency for International Development Cooperation. We're about to enter the 3rd phase of this agreement that will include even more cooperation. Our concept is to make our technology applicable to the needs of the Indian farmers."

Agritech Israel 2015, will be held from April 28 – 30, 2015 at the Israel Trade Fairs and Convention Center in Tel Aviv . The exhibition will involve those engaged in manufacturing, marketing, R&D, as well as all those involved in the various agricultural sectors both directly and indirectly.
