    Israel was ranked in the top 10 countries on the Global Innovation Index 2019 reveals WIPO in New Delhi. Israel is ranked first in West Asia and North Africa and is the only new country to break through to the top 10. 
     
    New Delhi, July 24th -  At the launch of the Global Innovation Index 2019 revealed by WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization) in New Delhi today, Israel was ranked among the top 10 countries on the index for the first time. Israel has been steadily climbing up the ranking in the innovation index. This year’s focus on innovation in health propelled Israel to the top 10.
     
    The WIPO GII launch in New Delhi recognized the great strides that Asia, and especially India, have made in the realm of Intellectual Property and Innovation. Israel was proud to witness India’s rising status in the index as India’s partner in promoting innovation in fields such as water, agriculture, education, health and more. Israel is committed to partner with India on Innovation for mutual development and growth.
     
    Ambassador of Israel in India, Dr. Ron Malka, attended the launch and spoke during the session on ‘Asia: The future hub of Innovation’. The following session ‘Creating Healthy Lives-The Future of Medical Innovation’ included the Head of Digital Health Division at the Israeli Ministry of Health, Ms. Esti Shelly.
     
    An excerpt from Ambassador Malka’s remarks at the event: “The future lies in innovation. Reality has shown that innovative economies develop more. Israel is eager to share its breakthrough innovations with its innovative friends and partners for a better future. What Israel has done for its survival, we are keen to share for the development of others.”
     
    Israel and India both share the understanding that innovation is essential for advancing the Sustainable Development Goals. This understanding has been set into action as Israel and India work to realize the full potential of implementing innovation in every part of its Growing Partnership.
