The Embassy of Israel hosted a reception in the capital on the 66th Independence Day of the state of Israel. The hall, which was decorated with the flags of India and Israel, was jam packed with hundreds of guests of Ambassador of Israel to India, H.E Alon Ushpiz. H. E. Mr. JD Seelam, the Minister of State for Finance was the chief guest. Some of the other notable guests were Mr. Subramaniam Swamy, Mr. Ram Jethmalani and Gen. JFR Jacob, that had the pleasure, together with many Indian guests and diplomats from various other embassies, to enjoy a rich Israeli and Indian cuisine.

The Consulate General of Israel in Mumbai celebrated Isarel's 66th National Day on May 6, 2014 at the Palladium Hotel, Lower Parel, in the presence of Mr. Alon Ushpiz, Israel's Ambassador to India, Mr. Sumit Mullick, Additional Chief Secretary and Chief Protocol Officer – Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Maharashtra Government, Jonathan Miller, Consul General of Israel in Mumbai, and other dignitaries. The highlight of the event was a performance by former members of the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra, led by renowned conductor Leonti Woolf.
