India and Israel Inaugurate second Center of Excellence in Gujarat

2nd Indo-Israel Center of Excellence in Gujarat

    ​Talala, Gujarat: Today, the second of three Centers of Excellence (CoE) of the Indo-Israeli Agricultural Project (IIAP) in Gujarat was officially inaugurated. The center for mangoes in Talala, Gujarat is the 13th CoE to be inaugurated of the 26 centers in the program. In Gujarat, the center is joining the fully operational center for vegetables in Vadrad and the center for date palms in Bhuj, expected to be operational in 2018.

     

    The inauguration ceremony was graced with the presence of Minister of State of Agriculture, Farmer’s Welfare & Panchayati Raj, Government of India, Mr. Parshottam Rupala, MLA Govind Bhai Parmar of Gujarat State Legislature, the Ambassador of Israel to India, Mr. Daniel Carmon and the Consul General of Israel in Mumbai, Mr. David Akov.


    During his speech, Ambassador Daniel Carmon said: “The collaboration we are gathered here today to inaugurate and celebrate has sprouted from the seed of friendship and partnership between India and Israel. It is a partnership whose fruits can be felt, seen and tasted. 
    The future of our relations is here, jointly building on each other’s experiences and knowledge to build a better future for Israel, India and the world.”
