Celebrating 25 years of Growing Partnership: India-Israel Relations

This year marks the 25th Anniversary of the establishment of Diplomatic relations between India and Israel. The Indo-Israeli partnership has evolved through their robust cooperation in various dimensions for more than two decades now.  Israel and India did not share the same proximity they do today back in the 1950s. However, with the establishment of full diplomatic relations with Israel in 1992 areas of common interests such as water, agriculture, defense, and energy emerged. President Ezer Weizman became the first Israeli president to visit India. This was followed by a series of such diplomatic visits by the head of states and foreign ministers of both countries that strengthened the ties between the two. Since then the promising alliance between Jerusalem and New Delhi has translated into a number of meaningful joint projects and ventures.  The diplomatic energies of the two states are now focused on solidifying this partnership in innovative ways.

To celebrate this journey of 25 years the Embassy of Israel has given expression to the strong ties between the two states by the way of a logo. This logo marks the significance of the state’s collaboration for all these years and paves the way forward into a brighter future. This year would witness increased synergies between India and Israel in the areas of Trade and Commerce, Academics and Culture. With greater participation of artists, academicians and entrepreneurs from both sides, let us celebrate the silver jubilee of a meaningful partnership together.
