“Let the year and its curses conclude; Let the year and its blessings begin.”  -- Achos Ketanah
As we stand at the threshold of a new year, I take pleasure in sending you warm greetings on behalf of the State of Israel and its people.
This past year has been one of many challenges for the State of Israel. We have seen turmoil and instability throughout our region, including being threatened by the malevolent regime of Iran. Despite this turbulent time, Israel remains ready for peace.
Every New Year brings renewed hope that our prayer for peace will be answered. This, our 5,774th year, is no different. In this year, Israel is again pursuing a wish for peace in the hopes of ending conflict with Palestinians and to preserving Israel as the democratic state and the national homeland of the Jewish people.
I join you in praying that the coming year will bring the blessing of peace, and security, to the state of Israel and throughout the region.
In closing, I want to personally wish you and your family a very Happy New Year. L’Shana Tovah U’Metuka and G’mar Hatima Tova.

    -        Meir Shlomo, Ambassador from the Consulate General of Israel to the Southwest United States
