Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the U.S. Armed Forces General (****) Martin Dempsey is in Israel for an official visit. Gen. Dempsey met yesterday (August 12) with IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz and with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
In their meeting, Gen. Dempsey and Lt. Gen. Gantz discussed military cooperation between Israel and the U.S. and mutual security challenges. "It's great to be here ... to continue to build that strong relationship which is the basis for us accomplishing anything. It really is all about our relationship," said General Dempsey after the meeting.
In his visit Gen. Dempsey will also meet with President Shimon Peres and Minister of Defense Moshe Ya’alon.
