MASA: Long Term Programs in Israel
MASA enables young Jews from all over the world to spend a semester to a year in Israel on any of over 160 programs including study, volunteer and internships.
The Hebrew University of Jerusalem
The Hebrew University's Rothberg International School offers a broad selection of courses taught in English, along with courses in French, Spanish, Russian, and Hebrew by members of the Hebrew University faculty. Students may choose from among several study programs at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Seven M.A. degree programs are also conducted in English.
Tel Aviv University
- Undergraduate Programs - Tel Aviv University offers semester and year-abroad programs for undergraduates, as well as degree programs and specialized programs.
- Graduate Programs - Offerings include Middle Eastern History, Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, Conflict Resolution and Mediation, MBA programs and access to the full offerings of the University.
- Summer Programs - Summer Programs are offered in general academic areas as well as language offerings in Yiddish, Hebrew and Arabic.
- Intensive Language Program - Intensive language programs are offered in Hebrew, Yiddish and Arabic.
The Porter School of Environmental Studies (PSES) will be offering a new, full-time International MA Program in Environmental Studies, taught in English, to commence in the fall semester of 2011, during a one-year period (3 semesters). The new program aims to provide international candidates with an intensive multidisciplinary insight into environmental studies with an emphasis on Israel's unique geographic and geopolitical setting.
Bar-Ilan University
Located in Ramat-Gan, Bar-Ilan University offers several programs in English:
Israel Experience offers a variety of courses taught in English each semester that reflects a typical freshman course load that would be found in American schools. Students who so desire, and whose Hebrew proficiency is acceptable, are encouraged to avail themselves of courses offered in Hebrew at the university. Program limited to 100 English speaking students.
Creative Writing Semester in Israel, open to gifted and emerging writers, combines the nurturing of students' creative talents with the intensive exploration of the relationships among writing, personal identity, Jewish studies and the experience of living in Israel.
International MBA Experience - The International MBA at the S. Daniel Abraham Center of Economics and Business is a one-year program taught entirely in English.
University of Haifa
The International School at the University of Haifa welcomes international students to study at the university on a non-degree basis for a summer, semester, or full academic year. The University of Haifa is recognized internationally as an approved study abroad site, and academic credits earned are transferable back to home institutions to be applied towards completion of a degree.
Programs include: Undergraduate Programs, Summer Programs, Hebrew Language Programs, Arabic Language Programs and Graduate Programs.
Ben Gurion University of the Negev

Technion - Israel Institute of Technology
The Technion's International School of Engineering offers three undergraduate Bachelor of Engineering degrees, a Freshman Year Program and Study Abroad opportunities, taught entirely in English (view brochure).

Graduate studies:
The Technion - Israel Institute of Technology is launching two Master's degrees taught entirely in English.
The ME degrees include 40 academic credits and can be completed in 10 months. Excellent students can transfer to a research degree (M Sc. or P.h.D) that includes 20 academic credits and can be completed in two years.
Students holding a B Sc. in engineering specialties with a strong academic background are invited to apply. Students are invited to apply by August 1, 2010 for the fall semester.
Master of Engineering in Environmental Engineering (ME)
The Master of Environmental Engineering deals with the theoretical and scientific aspects, as well as the principles of planning, design, construction and operation of environmental systems. These systems include water supply, sewerage and drainage, waste water treatment and reuse, air pollution and solid waste.
Master of Civil Engineering in Structural Engineering (ME)
Modern technological developments and the variety of challenges that structural engineers face today necessitate an extended knowledge base, special skills and a higher level of expertise. Students in this program will focus on the analysis and design of structures in terms of strength, stability, and resistance to loads, including earthquakes. In addition, they will learn about the responsibilities in leading a design team and making decisions, and they will strengthen their professional and scientific skills by focusing on advanced analysis method, stability, and structural dynamics.
The Technion also offers a two year Master of Business Administration (MBA) Program in English that focuses on the management of knowledge & technology intensive firms, under the supervision of the Technion Faculty of Industrial Engineering and Management. Besides the usual courses given in a regular MBA program, the Technion MBA will provide courses specifically related to its expertise in project management, management information systems, entrepreneurship, marketing of high tech products and strategic management of global high tech corporations (view brochure).
Admission requirements:
- Undergraduate degree with an average of at least 80 from a recognized academic institute
- GMAT test with a total score of at least 550 and 80% in the quantitative component
- At least three years of professional work experience after graduation
- Candidates holding a master’s or PhD degrees may be exempt from the GMAT.
In addition, the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology invites foreign non-Israelis to pursue their graduate education at the Technion in its various faculties towards the following degrees: MSc - Master of Science, ME - Master of Engineering, and PhD - Doctor of Philosophy.
Weizmann Institute of Science
The Feingold Graduate School offers graduate programs leading to Master of Science (MSc) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees in five major fields of study: Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Life Sciences, Mathematics and Computer Science and Science Teaching.
Interdisciplinary Center (IDC) Herzliya
The Western Galilee College
Galillee College is a public, international management-training institution. Its International Department offers a core curriculum of over a dozen programs. Its Program Development Division designs and implements training projects tailor-made for the requirements of sponsoring governments and international agencies. The college also recruits interns from Japan, China, Vietnam, Cambodia and South Korea in order to promote cooperation.
Joint Jewish-Christian-Muslim Program: A Religious Mosaic in the Holy Land - Five-week summer program devoted to the three great monotheistic traditions - Judaism, Christianity and Islam (as well as the other traditions/different sects represented in Israel), their history and connections in the context of modern-day Israel.
Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design Jerusalem
The two year masters program (in fine art, urban design/architecture and industrial design) would be possible for overseas students although they are conducted in Hebrew.
ORT Braude College
Braude College, located in Karmiel (Galilee) offers student exchange programs through partnerships with universities abroad.
Study Abroad Program - One Semester in Israel
The program offers courses equivalent to the studies of one full semester in a quality engineering study program in the USA - suitable for students in their junior year, nominally in their 6th semester in a school of engineering. All courses are taught in English.
