Military service exemption needs to be filed into at the age of 16 years and 4 months.
Pay attention as this process could take up to 8 weeks.
In order to apply for a military exemption you will need to post the following documents to the embassy:
1. Completed “Registration Form/Application to Defer Military Service for Israeli Citizens Staying Abroad” form
signed by the applicant

2. Completed “Registration for an Israeli Citizen Staying Abroad” form signed by the applicant –

3. Photocopy of the applicant's Israeli passport.
4. Photocopy of the applicant's foreign passport if applicable.
5. One 5cmX5cm passport picture of the applicant - we do not recieve different sized pictures. Note that the size of the picture is bigger than Australian passport pictures.
6. Photocopies of both of the applicant's parents passports - Israeli and foreign.
7. Full contact details - Email + phone number
In the case of divorced parents, you must submit official custody papers for the applicant.
Pay attention - applications must be submitted through the post.
Any applcation that will be sent through an email will not be accepted.
If the applicant's parents' marital status in Israel is NOT up to date, we will not be able to submit the appliction.
If you have not recieved an email regarding your application within three working days since the envelope has been accepted, please contact the embassy with your Israeli ID number.
Please Note: The procedure could take around 8 weeks, in some cases it might take longer. The embassy is unable to escalate the application for the exemption as it is processed in Israel through the Israeli Defense Force (IDF).
Upon receiving authorization we can issue a new passport, according to regulations.
