Nuclear Deal
Reached With Iran, Prime Minister Netanyahu Reacts: “The world is a much more dangerous place today than it was yesterday.”
This morning, the details outlining a nuclear deal with
Iran were announced to the world. The
premise of the agreement is that in exchange for limits on its nuclear
activities, Iran would get relief from sanctions while still being allowed to
continue its atomic program.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has strongly denounced
this agreement, explaining, “When you are willing to make an agreement at any
cost, this is the result. From the
initial reports we can already conclude that this agreement is an historic
mistake for the world. Far-reaching
concessions have been made in all areas that were supposed to prevent Iran from
obtaining nuclear weapons capability.”
“Amazingly,"
continues PM Netanyahu, "this bad deal does not require Iran to cease its
aggressive behavior in any way . . . While the negotiators were closing the
deal in Vienna, Iran's supposedly moderate president chose to go to a rally in
Tehran, and at this rally a frenzied mob burned American and Israeli flags and
chanted 'Death to America,' 'Death to Israel.'
Consul General of Israel to the Southeast, Ambassador
Opher Aviran, explains, “The agreement does not prohibit Iran from continuing activities
that undermine the region's stability and threaten the world. It is clear that
this deal with Iran will pose grave dangers to Israel, America and, ultimately,
the world.”
Congress now has 60 days to vote the deal up or down. In addition to his statements, PM Netanyahu vowed to
pursue any diplomatic efforts that would block the deal.
