PROJECT OVERVIEW
The “Every Child Counts” Education Initiative in Kwara State is a comprehensive Science and Technology Education Improvement in project aimed at ensuring quality education delivery especially in the field of science and technology. Funded and supervised by the Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board and State Ministry of Education respectively, the project is divided into three components namely:
• Establishment of Kwara State Educational Resource Centre for training and retraining of teachers.
• Training and capacity building for teachers in Primary and Junior Secondary Science.
• Supply of Instructional Materials covering Primary and Junior Secondary Science.
ESTABLISHMENT OF KWARA STATE EDUCATIONAL RESOURCE CENTRE
The Centre was established through the renovation, furnishing and equipping of an existing structure given by the State Ministry of Education into a standard training centre for the training and retraining of teachers in Kwara State.
The Resource Centre has the following facilities:

5. Multipurpose Hall (with the capacity of 150 persons)
6. Relaxation Center
7. Computer Room with 15 computer sets and internet facilities

Kwara Education Centre premises
TRAINING OF TEACHERS ON THE USE OF THE MICRO-SCIENCE KITS AND THE NEW METHODOLOGY FOR EFFECTIVE TEACHING LEARNING.
One week intensive training of 500 Primary School and Junior Secondary Schools Science Teachers on the use of the Micro-Science Kits and the New Methodology for Effective Teaching and Learning. The selected teachers will be trained at the ratio of 50 Teachers per week. Teachers in training will be provided with Accommodation, Feeding, Transport, Allowances and Instructional Manuals.
Teachers in trainingDELIVERY OF SKILL ‘G’ TEACHING AND LEARNING KITS TO DESIGNATED PRIMARY AND JUNIOR SECONDARY SCHOOLS ACROSS KWARA STATE.
This involves deployment of Skill ‘G’ Teaching/Learning Instructional Materials (the micro-science kits) to 150 Primary and 100 Junior Secondary Schools across Kwara State.
